For those who didn't know, popular radio talk-show host Art Bell has returned to the airwaves. George Noory still hosts Coast to Coast AM Mondays thru Fridays, but Art can once again be heard in the wee hours every Saturday and Sunday night. Locally, tune into 910 AM at 11pm, or listen online.

According to UFO Magazine, Stanton Friedman (once again) "Flays the Roswell Critics."
That is, Friedman responds to published views that disagree with (i.e., "debunk") the idea that whatever crashed in 1947 was not from around here. In the article, Friedman says both articles he reviews "...are splendid examples of the intellectual bankruptcy of the pseudo-science of anti-ufology."

Sadly, psychoanalyst and radio talk show host Constance Clear passed away from injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident. Noted for her compassion, "Clear lent a sympathetic ear to people reporting alien abduction" according to an article published in the San Antonio News Express in late October. She worked with mentally disabled adults, parents suffering the loss of newborns, and was also the author of

"Reaching for Reality: Seven Incredible True Stories of Alien Abduction." Clear was 53 at the time of the accident, and will be greatly missed by many.

The Politics of Disclosure

UFO Lobbyist to Speak in Roswell

"I have a hunch Roswell will see a big turnout next year..." That's what Stephen Bassett told me in a recent e-mail. Why? Because he believes we are on the verge of "Disclosure" - that inevitable time when the government and media finally have to come clean about UFOs. Whenever it happens, you can bet all eyes will turn once again to Roswell.

Maybe he's a bit optimistic, but if anyone has a right to be, it's this man. Gathering military witnesses, testimony, and pushing Congress to "open the files" has been this man's passion for a number of years now. In 2001-2, he obtained enough signatures to run for a congressional seat in Maryland, running solely on a non-partisan "UFO Disclosure" platform. While he didn't win, he succeeded in bringing national attention to the more credible aspects of the UFO debate.

This Spring, he plans to outdo himself by hosting a paradigm changing conference before an election-happy media - and IN Washington D.C., no less. The X-Conference promises to bring together 20 speakers, who "Collectively... hold enough knowledge of government involvement with extraterrestrial phenomena and the truth embargo to end the cover-up tomorrow."

Tall order? For those who can't just up and beam over to Washington in April to see for themselves - hold on to your saucers - Bassett will share highlights from his personal career as a political activist, and from the D.C event, here in Roswell. He appears as one of over a dozen UFO researchers lined up for the Ancient of Days UFOs and Abduction Conference to be held in July. The event is scheduled to be held at the Sally Port Inn July 2nd-5th, with over 20 lectures planned. Bassett's talk will be the event's keynote dinner address. Pre-registration is required to attend.
