Greetings from sunny Roswell, New Mexico!
Who is Guy Malone?
Here's my obligatory 32 Things list. All that aside, very occasionally I crank out amazing works of writing. E-mail me to receive my articles (<<< samples at left), insights, and my patented "Truly Useful" forwards - unsubscribe anytime.

Details, details: Born in Atlanta, GA, raised in Nashville, TN. Also lived in Knoxville, TN and Daytona Beach, FL. Living in Roswell NM, since 1999 (Rachel, NV could be next). Worked mostly restaurant and sales - currently, evenings at Cattle Baron, and by day run a non-profit bookstore and ministry, which also serves Roswell's tourists, by doubling as an Internet Cafe.

From a press bio: "In 1997, Malone was working simply as a broker for an oil drilling company. The publication of his first website and book Come Sail Away : UFO Phenomenon & The Bible led to his current ministry calling and move to Roswell... The storefront's visibility and popular websites..." blah, blah, blah. While it can be read online for free, somehow my book became a "rare" listing on Amazon and has sold for over $100, used. While on the subject, here's the text from my History Channel interview.

About this site: My highly circulated post-911 article was really the birth of this site. I wanted a webhome for my writing that didn't reflect any of my business, church or alien sites in the url. Upon creating this one, I also turned it into a "personal ad," mainly just to experiment with search engines, not that I really thought the "ad" would work out. After much tweaking, I achieved a #1 rank on Google for "Single Christian Man" (which I won't hold now that I've rewritten it) and this definitely impressed all my webmaster geek friends... life was good.

However... it also apparently impressed many women even older and uh, larger, than myself. Not to mention many Russian wanna-be brides (and their webmasters) - and more than a few "ladies" with webcams - who somehow thought I'd be impressed. Not. Anyway, bad move, and this site is now a simple home for my writing and photography once again. (If you're looking for a single Christian man, or woman, try here.)

And in case you've ever wondered, here's some cheesy pictures of downtown Roswell, New Mexico.

Dear diary,

August 17, 2003  Well I turn 35 tomorrow. Since I work tomorrow night, to celebrate (for lack of a better word) I closed the shop early, and took myself for a relaxing Sunday afternoon drive - 72 miles one-way to Tatum, New Mexico (population 768). I saw lots of cows on the way, and being a city boy, I mooed at them. My first time there, I was just hoping against hope that they'd have an authentic greasy-spoon diner. They did (!) - complete with real cowboys in real cowboy hats, one girl in a T-shirt doing everything, and a decor straight outta Green Acres. I got a booth, and a perfectly awful steak (which was more fun to eat in such surroundings, than it was actually enjoyable). Good enough that I was too full for pie, however. My dogs fought over the T-bone in the back of the pick-up the whole drive home, and watching THAT action in the mirror made the whole trip worthwhile. Living large and all, I was thinking I'd grab a movie back in Roswell, but American Wedding and Freddy vs Jason were the best I had to choose from. Any other day I might've seen one of them, but no... not for my birthday. 35's too much of a milestone to mark with one of those... I'd rather redesign my site. Welcome to GuyMalone.com

Could your life possibly be any slower than mine? Then by all means, add some excitement to it! Scroll back up for some interesting articles and links, and/or sign-up for my mailing list (which does NOT include stories like the above). My photography still to come.        Oh, here's my links section too. You probably don't qualify.
