Part 3 - It Don't Come Easy
Solitary Bird Words inspired by my original sketch "Finding
the Courage."
It was just a black bird overlooking a river and valley, with a
mountain far across the water.
Reflective of my own life at the time of course, I just
expressed what he might be thinking...
Something in me stops here from time to time.
From the outskirts of my own world, I ponder another.
Food is scarce and the wind currents often
unbearable,
but there's something calling me to the other side.
I used to test my wings there, sometimes for days,
but for some reason I always came back.
Nowdays I fly the patterns I know, stupidly
circling,
defending my territory to the death if necessary.
In all fairness, please don't ask me why.
Is food really that scarce across the river?
Am I still strong enough to survive there?
Does any of that even matter?
Something in me wonders about things from time to time.
