Again the gentle morning, but I've no need of it's call,
For again I've failed the night, and barely slept at all.
Dreams elude me, peace denied, a new day's come about,
but I'll need no rest come the moon tonight
if I accomplish nothing to rest up about.

So the day rolls on and habit wins again,
I reach for a cig  just like my mother.
I might've done some good today,
Instead, I smoked another.

I had my chance to break the pattern,
I had my chance to fly,
I had my chance to change the world today,
  only I didn't try.

Old and dying I seize it now,
A final chance to serve The Light -
With these words I beg you,
Make a difference today!

... and perhaps you'll sleep tonight.
